Santa Cecilia Hotel

Wonderful experience, coffee by 7am most mornings, staff was beyond helpful, beds extremely comfortable haven’t slept this well in years. Xochimilco barrio was magical, restaurants all through the area, stand-outs El Emprededo and La Cezina Cafe, the latter just across the street. They call a taxi for you at the hotel, you wait no more than 10 minutes for arrival and then pay around 4USD to and from Zocalo or easily walkable in 25 minutes. Can say close to perfection, definitely consider this hotel even though they don’t speak much English, they find ways to be understood and make efforts to help you through any problem.

This hotel was very clean and exceptional service. Very cool design and unique architecture. The food from the chef on the roof was amazing. Started everyday with an amazing view and great breakfast. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely little hotel in a nice location. Stayed for 8 nights. Really friendly staff, nice clean rooms with balconies, comfy bedding, great rooftop patio with affordable yummy breakfasts. My only issue in the room was getting the shower to a temperature that wasn’t boiling hot or freezing cold. Bit loud in the mornings but it wasn’t a big deal. We really loved the neighbourhood and the walk to the Centro - it’s a straight shot and about 20 minutes. Good food and coffee options nearby.

We’re so lucky to have sought out this hotel after settling on Xochimilco for our stay in January 2025. The staff are very warm and friendly and welcomed us back from the lovely walk from Centro each time. The chef and restaurant are also amazing, with the offer of having room service if you like. Although the rooftop view is amazing. You can’t lose. The room was clean, shower was warm and good pressure, and upon arrival we were given a choice of room since they were a little quiet. The view of the aqueduct was great, often offering a chance to dog watch. Surrounding cafes and restaurants are great too. Staff are there 24 hours and you can keep things in your own safe. Plus coffee was ready at 6:30 each morning which was great as I’m an early riser. If you’re still reading, this is the one

Lovely rooms, lovely people. Very clean. Great chats with the staff over fresh coffee every morning. Gardens and terrace are beautiful. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and lovely. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Super nice employees, very clean, great location safe and close to city center. They are really helpful and willing to do the extra mile. Also it’s possible to have breakfast / dinner, not expensive and great food, amazing value for money. Couldn’t recommend more!

This place is beautiful. Any concerns you may have about being too far away are not to be worried about. This place is in a beautiful part of Oaxaca amongst the prettiest European styled streets, with fantastic cafes and restaurants nearby. You don’t even need to walk 5 minutes. It’s an easy walk into town or you can take a short cab ride. We walked. The rooms open up onto the aqueduct that runs behind the hotel, so we were lulled to sleep every night with running water. Definitely better than staying in town with all the street noise. Even when we had hot water issues, the service staff were quick to remedy this by either moving us to a new room or getting the plumber to fix it asap. The chambermaids did such an amazing job cleaning our room they even folded our clothes! It was easy to add Netflix and Amazon prime - I think the bad reviews didn’t actually ask the front desk. They just complained on google. Just incredible service and will 100% be back

Gem of a hotel in a quiet, interesting neighbourhood, 15 minutes from the centre with great coffeshops and restaurants nearby. The staff are lovely, helpful and kind and the hotel clean, pretty with very comfortable beds. Kudos to the gardener for the beautiful garden. Wifi good.
